Cement is flowing like...well, Cement.

The floor is being poured as I type this, which is kind of exciting. For about a month is was just dirt and now it really is taking shape. Plant Operations says that they should start sheet rock and the roof this week also.

Inside three of the new rooms in the ER are getting tiling on them.

Here is an update on our new Medical Oncology suite is waiting on a new fire door then the plans get shipped off to the state for final approval.

Walls

Walls are starting to come a live in the ER remodel.

Floor prep is still being done, so that the new floor can be poured by the end of the week.

Progress is showing as the project keeps moving forward.

On a side note:
CCMH is excited to have
New Plant and Facilities Vice President Corey Fedie. Corey began work last week at CCMH. Please welcome him to the CCMH family and our great community.

The Roof is on

The roof tin is on and the steel is up.

After chatting with Norton Construction, here is the skinny of the ER remodel. Once the plumbing is done the floor will be poured next Tuesday. Tomorrow workers will work on cutting in to the ER waiting room and start finishing that part of the wall. The picture above shows the roof connecting to the existing ER and kind of where the new wall will be assembled. Next week the south wall may begin to be erected, floor permitting.

All in all it is just moving right along. It is really nice just to see progress, it is exciting, well at least for me.

Adding Steel

Steel girders lay piled on the ground, waiting to be hung. The i-beams arrived last Friday, and actually seeing the structure makes the addition seem larger.

Iron Men?

The iron has arrived! It was temporally delayed yesterday, arrived this morning and construction began to flourish. The I-beams are being set to construct the walls and roof. Check back Monday for our next post and more action.

It doesn't look like much--

It doesn't look like much is going on with the ER remodel, but work is ahead of schedule by about 10 days. What you can't see is the activity behind the scenes inside the department in the former trauma room and in the ambulance bay. At least the jackhammering has stopped for now!
